Michael Jackson's This Is It - the King of Pop's sixth No. 1 album sold more than 373,000 copies according to figures released by Nielsen SoundScan.
The album is the soundtrack to the movie of the same name, which did similarly impressive numbers, earning more than $100 million in its first week of release and not only garnering rave reviews as it out-grossed its competition by a large volume, but also leading Sony Pictures to announce that it's original two-week theater run would be extended through Thanksgiving weekend.
This Is It sold well-over three times as many albums as Creed's reunion album Full Circle, which charted in at just over 109,000, selling barely 300 more copies than Taylor Swift's Fearless, which climbed four spots to No. 3, from No. 7 last week. Had it not been for Swift's strong showing, the entire Top 5 would have been new releases.
