I spend a lot of time with my songs. I want to make them perfect... really good. Each time I write a song, I think to myself that this has to be a Top Ten record. I have more trouble with the lyrics than the music.

ECHO is a German music award granted every year by the Deutsche Phono-Akademie (an association of recording companies). Each year's winner is determined by the previous year's sales. The ECHO is the successor to the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis (German Record Award).

The winners in the pop category are announced in March, the winners in the classical category in October.
